Whilst many St John Ambulance Cadets move on to further training and careers within the medical and health sectors, lots continue to volunteer for the charity serving their local communities as First Aiders, youth leaders and emergency ambulance crew. The skills gained by Cadets are transferable to a huge range of professions, many citing improved confidence and communication skills as amongst the most useful. Enduring friendships and relationships also trace their beginnings back to training at unit meetings, chance encounters at events and secret rendezvous at camp.
